Panther Creek was the second village of The Woodlands, opened in the mid-1970s and named for the creek that winds through the village and feeds Lake Woodlands. It begins at the lake's western shore — Northshore Park and Southshore Park anchor the waterfront — and the village's thirteen parks and Country Club fairways thread between neighborhoods that have had decades to grow real tree cover.
