Sterling Ridge opened in 1999, named to honor the sterling (twenty-fifth) anniversary of The Woodlands. It spans the community's western end, surrounds the gated Carlton Woods enclave, and hosts the Gary Player Signature course at The Woodlands Country Club; its newer sections include May Valley and Spindle Tree at the village's wooded western edge. Housing runs from late-'90s production streets to substantial customs near the fairways — which means the village's first big wave of original-roof replacements is arriving now, on homes whose owners expect the job done to a premium standard.
